Payson Road Christian Church was an independent, non-denominational church started in Quincy in 1974. It was the daughter of Madison Park Christian Church of Quincy. About 60 people from MPCC began holding services in the Monroe Elementary School. From that start came a land purchase and building program. Thus came Payson Road Christian Church at 2901 Payson Road.

In 1998, PRCC made the decision to tighten the focus on “seekers”...to find a neutral environment that would be less intimidating. We decided to “get uncomfortable” so that others would feel “more comfortable.” PRCC became a mobile church, setting up and tearing down, week after week, for services at the Quincy Senior High School auditorium. That step of faith opened doors to a permanent “neutral ground” home...the John Wood Community College campus at 48th and Maine Street. In 2005 we added a 2,000 seat auditorium to the campus to accommodate our existing family and our future family as we continue to reach out to the Quincy area.

On September 9, 2007 we are opening our first satellite campus in Macomb, Illinois. The campus will have its own pastor and worship leader and other staff. The sermon will be broadcast from the Quincy campus. We are presently renovating a retired grocery store into a facility that will greatly serve the Macomb area. We look forward to reaching Macomb for Christ.
